I grew up in a family of writers. My mother, Anna Myers, is an award-winning author of more than nineteen novels for young people, mostly historical fiction, and my father was a poet.  I grew up watching my mom mentor and work with other writers, and I know how much joy she found in helping others achieve their dreams.  I'd love to share my knowledge and experience in the same way!

My debut novel, DARK AND SHALLOW LIES, was published in 2021 by Razorbill Books (Penguin). It received offers of rep from six awesome agents. It’s a New York Times Bestseller as well as a SCBWI Crystal Kite winner, an Amazon Editor’s Pick, and a Barnes & Noble YA Pick of the Month for September 2022. My second book, SECRETS SO DEEP, was released in late 2022. Both books have been published in more than eight countries and counting!  In addition, my next book, ONE LAST BREATH, will hit shelves in March of 2024, with a fourth scheduled to follow in 2025!

My books are young adult mysteries/thrillers with supernatural elements, but I'm glad to work with you on whatever you might be writing! Send me your adult project, chapter books or early readers, middle grade, or YA. (Note: I don’t work on picture books.)

A great query letter can help you make a great first  impression with literary agents or acquisitions editors. My critique will focus on your query’s overall impact, as well as specific feedback on your introduction, hook, bio, and closing.

If you need feedback on your synopsis (1-2 pages) and query letter, this is the package for you! I will provide detailed notes to help you improve the impact and clarity of your query letter and synopsis.

 

Query Letter + First 10 Pages Critique: $125
Do you need feedback on your first 10 pages in addition to your query letter? If so, this package is for you! I’ll provide a big-picture assessment of your sample, as well as offering specific suggestions for improving the impact and clarity of your query letter.

Would you like feedback on your entire querying bundle, including a query letter, synopsis, and first ten pages? If so, this is your bundle! Writing/Publishing Consultation via Zoom: 30 Minutes for $50 or 60 Minutes for $85
What is a literary agent and how do I find the right one? How does traditional publishing work and is it right for me? Does my story have a strong enough premise? What genre or age category does my writing fit best in? If you have writing or publishing questions, join me for a private Q&A on Zoom. I’ll answer your questions and provide links to helpful resources so you can continue your learning.

 

First 25 Pages Critique: $175
Do you have a strong beginning for your story? Is it starting in the right place? I’ll provide a big picture assessment of your first 25 pages in the form of detailed comments.The First 25 Pages Critique mirrors the feedback you would receive in a developmental edit. I’ll focus on things like story arc, character development, voice, pacing and beyond. While I may note smaller, sentence-level issues, my focus will be on the big picture.

Full Manuscript Critique: $.02 Per Word
I’ll provide a big-picture developmental assessment of your novel in the form of detailed comments, plus an editorial letter summarizing my overall thoughts. These developmental notes will focus on things like story arc, character development, voice, pacing, audience fit, and beyond. While I may note smaller, sentence-level issues, my feedback will concentrate on the big stuff. This is a manuscript evaluation (or developmental edit) highlighting large, structural issues, not a proofread, copy edit, or line edit. If you would like to include a professional proofread, copy edit, and line edit, this may be added to the full manuscript critique for an additional .02 per word.

 

Private Writing Coach Package: $300
Includes three private one-hour zoom sessions to help you brainstorm or work on a pitch, develop ideas, plot your novel, polish your writing, work on a particular skill, get advice and suggestions, or whatever your specific needs are!

 

6-Week One-On-One Intensive Mentorship: $2,000

Whether you're just getting started and need a boost getting your novel off the ground or you’re finished with your first draft and you want to make sure you are ready for revisions and eventually querying, this mentorship will give you the tools you need! The program includes a customized plan based on your goals and needs. You’ll get six weekly one-hour zoom sessions, weekly direct feedback on your writing (up to 30 pages per week), assistance with goal-setting and next steps, and more! Plus planning, organization, and time-management help! 

 

12-Week One-On-One Intensive Mentorship: $4,000
